Scorpio: Queen of the Night
Welcome to Scorpio season, friends!
In Celtic tradition, we are entering the New Year on Samhain (traditionally celebrated on the full moon, or on 10/31, All Soul's Day).
And that is the truth of Scorpio: the end, and the beginning. The Ouroboros.
Death & Rebirth.
Scorpio gets a bad rap, it's the most misunderstood sign of the zodiac, with connotations of fear, being known as "savage," cold, or sadistic.
However this is the shadow aspect of Scorpio and it is important never to judge a person based on any sign/aspect in their chart because we are all on individual journeys of learning & growth. An unevolved star sign looks very different from an evolved one.
Because this sign rules the shadow itself, the shadow aspects may be more prominent.
But the darker the dark, the brighter the light.
Darkness carries a connotation of fear, because it is unknown, and the ego strives to protect us from what we can't predict.
Scorpio is a fixed water sign, ruled by Pluto (& Mars). But while Cancer is the Moon sparkling on the waves of Mother Ocean, and Pisces is Poseidon with his trident protecting all who live within those waves, Scorpio is the ethereal siren who lives in that infinitely deep unexplored trench in the ocean, and is innately curious and full of courage to dive to the bottom to see what lives there, no matter how scary it may look, because the darkness beckons her, and she finds beauty within it.
So that is where she makes her kingdom.
In the Underworld.
And that is why many fear Scorpio.
Because those of us who live in fear, are terrified of those who don't.
But let me tell you a secret.
These are the most powerful people.
Subconsciously, it is impossible to fully trust someone riddled by fear, because they do not fully trust themselves.
Someone who transcends fear, is someone who is easier to trust, because they make us feel safe and protected.
Courage is not the absence of fear, it is feeling that fear, but not letting it hold you back.
It is looking in the face of fear and saying, "Show me what you got" with a wicked smile and fire in your heart.
And that is the superpower of Scorpio.
Scorpio is the sign of transcendence.
It is going to the deepest of depths, feeling every emotion with an earth shattering intensity, and allowing it to transform you into who you came here to be. A beautiful shining light.
It is knowing that the night sky is never without stars, even if they can't be seen in the present moment.
That the bottom of the ocean is home to bioluminescent creatures who have adapted to the darkness and became their own light.
It is intense pain & ecstatic pleasure.
It is feeling everything fully, and allowing those feelings to turn into fuel for your true purpose. Your dharma.
Scorpio is the Healer, the Witch, the Dark Goddess.
She is magic, beauty, darkness, creation & destruction.
Scorpio does not want the surface level small talk conversation. Scorpio wants to see your soul, raw and bare. And it wants to pour all of its love there, with an intensity that will make you feel nothing but accepted. Scorpio will always take you for who you are, because once you know someone on soul level, it is nearly impossible to judge. The ability to see through shadow allows Scorpio to see into your humanity, and show you how you can transcend your pain and turn it into your power.
Scorpio season is a time to dive in to your depths.
What dark thoughts arise in your mind throughout the day?
How does your shadow trigger how you treat yourself & others?
How can you turn your pain into pleasure?
How can you foster love, acceptance & forgiveness towards yourself & others?
How can you turn your struggles into your power?
What parts of you are you ready to let go of, so you can step into your true power?
We all have every sign in our chart.
Where does Scorpio show up for you in your chart?
Scorpio rules the 8th house, the house of magic, rebirth, pleasure, intimacy & our shadow aspects holding our deepest darkest secrets.
Whatever planets live in your 8th house are influenced by the energy of Scorpio, as well as the transits that pass through.
